5 Money Mindset Shifts
If you find yourself saying: “I am terrible with money. I keep setting goals but I am just not hitting them."
Then it’s time for a new approach with money.
In this blog post, I am sharing my five favorite money mindset shifts to take you from overwhelm to money bliss in just a few moments. Write them down in your journal and refer to them any time you hit a wobbly spot with money.
“I choose to see money as fun and easy.“
THIS is my personal favorite mindset shift. I have a tendency to take money way too seriously and I need a regular reminder to lighten up.
Imagine putting on a new pair of glasses. We’ll call them the money-is-fun-and-easy glasses. And then see the world through this new perspective. Begin to see how much fun it is to make money, to grow money and to spend money. It’s just a game!
And then become amazing at playing it.
“It is safe, right and good to receive money.“
You were born an amazing receiver. As a baby, you knew that you deserve all the love, care and safety in the world. But along the way, you shut down your receiving.
This is why it is crucial to open yourself up again and remember that it’s safe, right and good to receive.
And here’s a little tip: Great receivers feel mushy! They have let go of their protective armor and are living in a space of honesty and vulnerability. So if this whole letting-myself-receive-again business is making you feel soft, then that is exactly how it’s supposed to be.
“I am surrounded by money making opportunities that I can act on.“
Everywhere you look, there are jobs, businesses… people with needs and desires. And you have a wealth of skills and talents that you can use to provide value to others.
Begin to keep a list of the money making opportunities that cross your path… there might just be a couple you want to act on!
“I love learning and growing with money.“
You will be interacting with money for the rest of your life. It is the one thing you will not be able to escape.
That’s why it is worthwhile to learn about money and to master money. Even better - if you can commit to a lifetime of growth and discovery with money… you will always reach new levels of success and ease.
“It’s okay to make mistakes.“
If you’re keeping a list of money mistakes that you feel shameful about, then you are in perfect company. We all make mistakes. It means you’re normal!
My mentor Kiva once said to me: Failure IS the path to success. And this phrase changed my perspective on money forever.
The goal is not to never have difficult moments with money. It is to participate in the game, let myself grow and learn. And along the way, my successes will outnumber my failures.
